If one day the Internet goes off. Not if, but when.
The world's largest social networks Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp have been “lying” for several hours today, and difficulties arise with access to other platforms.
Obviously, this is serious enough. By the way, it is reported that against this background, the shares of Facebook fell by 5%, the fortune of the owner, Mark Zuckerberg, decreased by $ 6 billion.
This incident is a reason to recall the possibility of a general failure, which can leave most of the inhabitants of the Earth without the Internet at all for some time. Whether this will happen as a result of some kind of solar flare or as a result of the actions of some hackers is not so important. Sooner or later, something like this may well happen. The question does not even sound "if it happens", but "when it will happen".
On the one hand, something like this may even be useful for humanity ...
Such a shake-up that will make you think - to what extent humanity can and should rely on digital and networks, to what extent it is possible to make life support systems dependent on the network. Think and think again. Perhaps such an incident would cool a little the ardor of those powerful of this world who got carried away with building a system of digital slavery on this planet and would somewhat slow down this process.
On the other hand, today we are already so tied to these systems and to such an extent dependent on them that if / when the Internet nevertheless goes out, albeit temporarily, it will lead to such consequences that no one will seem little.
