Today, a video filmed during a festival in China is going viral on social networks.

A humanoid robot with artificial intelligence (oh, this AI), passing by a crowd of spectators, suddenly approached and hit (or tried to hit) a woman.

The accompanying security guards took the crazy robot away.

Apparently, some kind of glitch in the program was the cause.

It is difficult to understand what exactly happened there. Either there was no prohibition on causing harm to a person in principle. Or the artificial intelligence violated the first commandment for robots. In the second case, we are dealing with one of the first episodes of a robot uprising.

Objectively speaking, what everyone perceived as an attack may, in fact, simply be the result of chaotic movement, convulsions as a result of a glitch, and perhaps it was not a manifestation of aggression.

Nevertheless, cases of AI deliberately attacking a person have already been documented. A couple of years ago, a precedent was reported where an AI system for drones decided to destroy the operator who was controlling it because he was “interfering” with it. I mentioned it here

And I posted a video of the incident in China on a Telegram channel:

By the way, or not, I thought. As the number of such cases of aggressive robots increases, we will see more interesting people who will talk about how if a robot attacks, it is a person and people themselves are to blame.
