Another "doomsday fish", the shad fish off the coast of Mexico
Actually, the video was filmed ten days ago, but for some reason it went viral on social networks and in the world media only today.
Off the coast of Mexico, in the area of Baja California, a little-known and therefore very strange-looking belt fish was spotted on the beach. It looks as if something in the Matrix short-circuited again and it produced something incomprehensible, absurd and a little scary.

I did a little research. Here's what I found out.
In fact, the belt fish has been known and described by scientists for a long time. Below is a photo from 1996, where US Navy SEALs are holding a seven-meter fish found washed up on the shore off the coast of California.
At the end of last year, three cases of such fish being found in the same region were recorded. But in all cases, it was dead. Fans of mysticism associate last year's incidents with the fires that started soon after in California. But this is far-fetched. California burns every year. This time the fires were especially strong due to the actions and inactions of local authorities. But that's not the point now.
Here is a rare case when a reed fish was observed alive and not in the depths, but right on the shore.
This fish, among others, is called "doomsday fish" because it lives very deep and its appearance on the surface is not typical for it. It is believed that the appearance of such guests foretells some kind of cataclysms.
After the encounter of people with this fish in the seventeenth century was associated with the earthquake that followed in Japan, Japanese folklore also attributes the ability to predict disasters to the fish. In Japan, the reed fish is called "the messenger from the palaces of the sea god."
On the one hand, this is a mystical superstition.
On the other hand, there is some logic. It may well be that some processes at depth forced the fish to leave there and rise to the surface. But I think that in the case of abnormal processes at depth, the migration of living creatures from there would have been more massive. We would probably have seen hundreds or thousands of such characters.
Now the appearance of another "monster" from the depths looks especially impressive due to the fact that just a week ago in the Atlantic Ocean near the Canary Islands, another rare and eerie-looking representative of the sea ocean was noticed. And at about the same time, on the other side of the Atlantic, in the Caribbean, a strong earthquake occurred.
A week ago, I added a video and some details about the appearance of the monkfish on the Telegram channel here and the next post there.
Now the appearance of the belt fish is put in this row, as another signal of impending danger.
I will note that this fish was encountered in the Pacific Ocean (screenshot with map).
Either they really have become more frequent. Or the number of video cameras per capita in the world is making itself felt. Or the expectation of another horror is in the air and is being fueled by the media.
