Five years since the start of the Covid "pandemic"

About five years ago, the "covid epidemic" began. The first cases in China were registered at the end of 2019. The first signals that something strange was happening in the world came in January - February 2020. The WHO officially declared a pandemic on March 11, 2020.

I remembered some memes and videos from that period on the channel in TG here.
Here https://en.unila.ru/notes/1024 is my fantastic story about a virus that can only be saved by getting on all fours. I wrote it in 2021.

I don't know for sure if I had covid, I probably did. There was some strange flu, when my taste sensations changed, but I didn't lose my sense of smell.

In general, realizing the danger of the disease, like any other, realizing the need for preventive measures, I was skeptical about the draconian measures that were being introduced at that time in different countries of the world.

Many of them seemed illogical and excessive.

I spent most of the covid in the village, so I almost never encountered the need to constantly wear a mask, curfews, etc. Announcements “no service without masks” were hung in rural stores for show, they did not refuse service.

The habit of wearing masks in itself, for example, in Asian countries, seems quite normal to me. But at that time everything was presented in such a way that from a medical issue, from a question of preferences, it grew into a question of some kind of choice far beyond medicine.

I tried not to wear a mask.

When going to the city, I took one with me just in case, but I had to wear it once. Several times I encountered the situation where they wouldn't serve me without a mask in a store, I just left and went to a neighboring store, hoping that they needed customers more and would sell. And that's what happened. Once there was a scandal in the office of a mobile operator and it almost came to a fight.

Of course, it's interesting with these masks. Many are probably still convinced that they survived at that time only because they wore masks and got vaccinated. Others probably think that they survived because they breathed fresh air and did not take the vaccine. It is impossible to prove either one, so everyone believes what they like best. I know both those who were vaccinated and those who were not. I did not notice any particular difference in the consequences.

One of the saddest consequences of covid was the immediate and almost voluntary renunciation of their own civil rights by people in various countries of the world. Tens, if not hundreds of years of evolution in these matters were flushed down the toilet. It was especially sad to see how the so-called liberal part of society behaved. Most of them did not say a word in defense of rights and freedoms, which were violated at that time all over the world under the pretext of fighting the epidemic. It became obvious to many that liberals are not real. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why the world is turning right today.
